Pulsed lamp technology

Highest microbiological decontamination rates are gained by using high-energy pulsed light with power outputs in the megawatt range. These outputs are generated by the simultaneous discharge of a capacitor bank with up to 4000 V in one short light pulse. DNA and molecular structure of the germs (viruses, bacteria, mould fungi and spores) are irreversibly destroyed by an interaction of thermal energy and light energy. Thus, the durability of products is considerably increased.

The lamp is filled with Xenon, the most reactive inert gas, which has also an environmentally friendly aspect: The pulsed light bulbs, as well as LED technology, do not contain mercury.
